If you have a Yahoo ID, and you link it to the email address to which you receive your HO World List posts, you will be able to participate in all that HOWL has to offer. You will be able to participate in POLLS, you will be able to add PHOTOS and BOOKMARKS, add your track to the Database of Race Tracks, CHAT with other slotters, even add your event to the CALENDAR. The CALENDAR will send reminders to everyone on the list when and where your event will br held. Signing up for a Yahoo ID is easy, and free. Linking your existing ID to your email is just as easy, but, if you have any difficulties, contact the list owner by email to howorld-owner@yahoogroups.com Also, HOWL is available in digest form!! So sign up and get the entire experience of the HO World List.
One of the great features of the HOWL Yahoo Group is the ability to post pictures and graphics. We are limited to 30MB of space, so they do get weeded out occasionally. Nothing personal. I was thinking that there are two ways we can all work together on sharing this space. 1. First, crop all your photos (trim away all the extra space), and reduce them to no larger than 320 X 240 pixels. 240 X 180 is even better. Also, reduce the quality of your jpgs to 50% or less, and gifs to as few colors as you can (932 at most). 2.The second thing is to go back after a short while, and think about removing what you posted. Keep the relevant stuff, and the track pictures, maybe. Thanks for the consideration. SCB
